To obtain a detergent compsn. which exhibits good foaming properties, detergency, and foam qualities during cleaning and is excellent in the feeling of refreshment after rinsing by imcoporating a potassium salt of a higher fatty acid, an alkyldimethylaminoacetic acid betaine, and a high-polymn.-degree polyethylene glycol into the same.
This compsn. contains 5-30wt.% potassium salt of a higher fatty acid, 2-20wt.% alkyldimethylaminoacetic acid betaine, and 0.0005-1wt.% high-polymn.-degree polyethylene glycol. The synergistic action of the potassium salt and the betaine provides a thickening effect, giving a stable liq. with a suitably high viscosity even without using a gelatinizing agent. The synergistic action also improves the detergency of the compsn. and enables the inhibition of occurrence of soap scum.
