Abstract:

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of mildew and to attain the easy removal of the generated mildew by incorporating specific 2-(alkyldimethyl ammonio)ethyl phosphate or 2-(alkyldimethyl ammonio)ethyl phosphate into the detergent. CONSTITUTION:The 2-(alkyldimethyl ammonio)ethyl phosphate or 2-(alkyldimethyl ammonio)ethyl phosphate expressed by formula I (in the formula I, R is an alkyl or alkenyl group) is incorporated into the detergent. Namely, the 2-(alkyldimethyl ammonio)ethyl phosphate or 2-(alkyldimethyl ammonio)ethyl phosphate expressed by the formula I has the remarkable antimicrobial surfactant power to the mildew liable to be generated in the soft contact lens and has the effect of stopping the growth of the mildew and to kill the mildew. Thus, the soft contact lens is cleaned by the detergent contg. this material. The mildew sticking to the contact lens is then killed and removed by the antimicrobial activity thereof.
