Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine that can prevent an excess use of a detergent and can remove dirt with a reduced amount of water.SOLUTION: In step 40, an item to be washed is subjected to preliminary rinsing and water therefor is discharged. A composition of a dirty substance contained in the discharged water is identified in step 44. The identification can be performed by several different methods. For example, it can be performed based on data of a sensor, such as spectral, weight, and viscosity. A controller accesses a retrieval table and collates the data with compositions of dirty substances. When the dirty substance is identified in such a manner, the controller selects a detergent suitable for removing it and pours the detergent in step 46.
