To provide a detergent having iridescent luster, excellent stability of the pearlizing agent, excellent long-term storage stability under acidic condition and high-temperature condition and producible at a low cost and provide a method for producing the detergent.
The invention relates to a method for producing a detergent having iridescent luster by adding a molten component (B) or an aqueous solution containing the component to a liquid suspension of a component (A) and cooling the mixture to precipitate the component (B) and the detergent produced by the method. The component (A) is an ethylene glycol alkyl ester which may have a distribution of the carbon number of the constituent fatty acids provided that the ratio of the ≥18C fatty acids in the total constituent fatty acids is <70 wt.% and the component (B) is an ethylene glycol alkyl ester which may have a distribution of the carbon number of the constituent fatty acids provided that the ratio of the ≥18C fatty acids in the total constituent fatty acids is ≥70 wt.%. The production method gives a detergent having iridescent luster and excellent stability of the pearlizing agent and especially having excellent long-term storage stability under acidic condition and high-temperature condition at a low production cost.
