Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a degree of deterioration and a residual capacity by detecting the electrochemical characteristics of an electrochemical element, and comparing the value obtained with the standard electrochemical characteristics.
SOLUTION: In order to detect deterioration of an electrochemical element 1, a means of detecting electrochemical characteristics 2, a means of memorizing standard electrochemical characteristics 3, a means of comparing the electrochemical characteristics with the standard electrochemical characteristics 4 and a means of judging a degree of deterioration based on the calculated result of the means of comparing 4 are provide. A means of estimating the residual capacity 6 of the deteriorated electrochemical element 1 compensates the capacity of the electrochemical element 1, based on degree of deterioration calculated by the means of judging deterioration 5. In addition, a residual capacity is calculated, based on the integrated value of the output current of the electrochemical element 1 obtained by a signal from the means of detecting 2 and the compensated capacity. Preferably, the capacity of the electrochemical element is estimated, based on a degree of deterioration obtained by a deterioration detecting method for the electrochemical element, and the residual capacity is calculated by the capacity value obtained.
