Abstract:

To provide a determining apparatus of a melting state in an arc furnace that reliably determines the completion of melting scrap to shift process to the next step without waste of electricity consumption or the like.

The apparatus includes: a harmonic meter 7 that detects a primary side voltage of a furnace transformer 2 of the arc furnace and obtains a harmonic voltage component of a frequency which is an even multiple of the fundamental frequency; and a control device 4 that determines the completion of melting scrap when a voltage value of the harmonic voltage component is lower than a predetermined value.
