Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A deuterium-substituted chlorinated hydrocarbon based com pound expressed by formula I (R is methyl or -CD3; D is deuterium).
EXAMPLE: 2-(p-Methoxyphenyl)-2-(p-[d3]methoxyphenyl) -1,1,1-tr-ichloroethane (RS-isomer).
USE: An insecticide capable of exhibiting excellent insecticidal effects on insect pests of the orders, Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera, Dioctyoptera, Thysanoptera, Orthoptera, Hymenoptera, etc.
PREPARATION: A chlorinated hydrocarbon based compound expressed by formu la II (R' is H or methyl) is reacted with [d3]iodomethane expressed by formula III to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
