To provide a developer density measuring device capable of easily and precisely estimating density of a liquid developer of high density and high viscosity without being affected by an environment as far as possible, and to provide a developer density measuring method, and an image forming apparatus capable of adjusting the density of recovered developer using the developer density measuring device and method.
A capacity-variable water-balloon-like container filled with liquid developer for a density comparison is soaked in the tank of developer to be measured. On the basis of a positional change caused by float (or gravity) resulting from a difference in specific gravity, the density is estimated by a relative comparison. This makes it possible to easily and accurately estimate the density without being affected by the environment as far as possible.
