Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a durable developer having high developing ability, preventing a toner from sticking to the surface of a carrier caused by agitating for a long time by using a specific resin coated magnetic particle and incorporating a coupling material in the resin coating layer of the particle.
CONSTITUTION: A silicone resin coated magnetic particle is contained as a carrier. A carrier nucleus particle to be coated with the silicone resin is a conventional one such as iron, cobalt or the like and the nucleus particle is a spherical particle having 30-90μm average particle diameter. In the case of ≤30μm, splash of the carrier from a developing device is sometimes occurred and in the case of ≥90μm, sometimes ununiformity of an image is generated or resolution is deteriorated as to picture quality. It is necessary for the thickness of the silicone resin coating layer to be ≤0.5μm. Where, the thickness is calculated as average thickness of the coating layer. The coupling material is contained in the silicone resin coating layer and as a result, the adhesivity between the carrier core nucleus particle and the coating layer is improved and more strong carrier is obtained.
