Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a developer which can prevent image defects caused by the sticking of the developer on the surface of the coat sleeve used for preventing the fading phenomena from being generated.
CONSTITUTION: The developer is appropriately used for the image forming method using the developing device which has the developer carrier 2 for depositing and carrying the developer 5. The developer carrier 2 has the resin layer 10 contg. electrically conductive fine particles on its surface and in the relative load curve (Abbott load curve) of the surface, Cv<5μm when tp=5%, wherein Cv is the cutting depth and tp is the relative load length. The developer has at least a colorant and a resin binder contg. a high polymer. The chromatogram of the high polymer has the main peak in the region of 2,000 to 30,000 molecular weight and a subpeak or shoulder in the high molecular weight region of ≥100,000 molecular weight which contains a crosslinkable monomer unit as the constitutional unit. The high polymer has ≥30Mw/Mn and ≥1,200,000 Mw and is obtained by using a polyfunctional initiator together with a monofunctional initiator.
