Abstract:

To provide a developer supply mechanism capable of attaining the high definition of an image developed by a developing apparatus by satisfactorily diffusing and carrying the developer in the case of carrying the developer toward a developing tank, and to provide a developing apparatus equipped with the developer supply mechanism.

The developer supply mechanism 6 of mixing the toner replenished through a toner replenishing port 61a and carrier recovered from a photoreceptor drum surface and carrying the mixture to the developing tank, is provided with a diffusing part 62b having a plurality of radial-extending plates 62b on the part facing the toner replenishing port 61a of the upstream side carrying shaft 62 out of the developer carrying shafts 62 and 63. The mixture (developer) of the toner and the carrier is mixed/diffused with the rotation of the upstream side carrying shaft 62 while moving in the circumferential direction, thereafter, the developer is carried toward the developing tank by an auger-shaped carrying part 62A.
