To provide a developer for a thermosensitive recording material showing outstanding chromogenic sensitivity, water resistance, oil resistance and light resistance which are equal to or higher than levels of those of a developer using bisphanol A as a raw material, and a method for producing the developer, and to provide the thermosensitive recording material containing the developer for the thermosensitive recording material, and a thermosensitive recording substance using the material.
The developer for the thermosensitive recording material contains a chemical compound represented by a formula (1) (wherein, R1 is hydrogen, a 1-6C alkyl group or a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group, a substituted or non-substituted aralkyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom; "m" is an integer of 1 to 4; R2 is hydrogen, a 1-6C alkyl group, a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group, a substituted or non-substituted aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, a hydroxy group or a halogen atom; "n" is an integer of 1 to 4).
