Each of the developing apparatuses (Gy to Gk) comprises: a developing container (V); each of developer holders (R0y to R0k) having a magnet member (13) and a cylindrical member (14); stirring members (31, 41) having spiral stir vanes (33, 43) supported by rotary shafts (32, 42); a layer thickness regulating member (12) regulating the thickness of a developer layer; the magnet member (13) having an absorption magnetic pole (N3) corresponding to an absorption position (Q13) where the stirred developer is absorbed, a regulating magnetic pole (S4) corresponding to a regulating position (Q11) where the layer thickness regulating member (12) is arranged, and a separating magnetic pole (S3) generating a magnetic field so that the developer can be detached downstream of the absorption magnetic pole (N3) and upstream of the regulating magnetic pole (S4); and a guide member (26) arranged so as to correspond to the magnetic field where the developer is detached, and used to guide the separated developer toward the cylindrical member (14).
