To provide a developing apparatus in which even when a small-sized photosensitive material is conveyed within a conveyance track of a large-size photosensitive material, a coating material eluted from the small-sized photosensitive material is prevented from depositing on a large-sized photosensitive material and degradation in the picture quality can be prevented.
The developing apparatus is equipped with a developing solution tank reserving a developing solution and a conveying system to convey large-sized and small-sized photosensitive materials so as to repeat a procedure of dipping a sheet type photosensitive material in the developing solution in the developing solution tank and pulling the material from the liquid. The conveying system comprises a plurality of conveying roller pairs to press and convey photosensitive materials in such a manner that a small-sized photosensitive material is conveyed within the conveyance track of a large-sized photosensitive material. The conveying roller has a relief groove with a specified width in the axial direction and extended in the circumference direction in a region where both ends of the pressed and conveyed small-sized photosensitive material in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction pass over the roller.
