To provide a developing device capable of preventing the occurrence of drying temperature unevenness between a contact portion and non-contact portion with a guide in a recording material when drying a sheet-like recording material after development processing while conveying the same and capable of preventing the occurrence of image unevenness in the recording material after the development.

The developing device is equipped with a developing section for developing the exposed sheet-like recording material and a drying section for drying the developed recording material while conveying the same. The guide section 26d of the drying section has a plurality of rod-like guides 64 to 72 arranged to incline within an angle range of ±90° with respect to the conveying direction F of the recording material within a guide plane in order to guide the conveyed recording material.
