To obtain a developing device using a one-component developer, where a good-quality developer is supplied to a developing chamber so as to improve an output image.
The developing device is equipped with: a housing 51 forming the developing chamber A inside and configured to store the developer composed of one component; a developer supply means 59 having at least a separation part 57 forming a separation chamber C having a first aperture and a second aperture located lower than the first aperture inside; a stirring means 58 arranged in the separation chamber C and stirring the developer upward; a first conveyance path 501 supplying the developer from the first aperture to the upper side of the developing chamber A; a second conveyance path 502 collecting the developer from the lower side of the developing chamber A to the second aperture; a developer carrier 52 arranged in the developing chamber A and carrying the developer; a developer supply member 53 arranged in the developing chamber A and supplying the developer to the developer carrier 52; and a regulation member 54 abutting on the developer carrier 52 and regulating the developer on a surface of the developer carrier 52. The first and second conveyance paths 501 and 502 are driven to convey the developer, and also the stirring means 58 is operated to separate the developer in the separation chamber.
