To provide a developing device, in view of a problem of a configuration using an air flow transfer mechanism, having a configuration capable of preventing a change in a transfer amount due to leakage of gas such as air and recycling recovered developer.
Aside from a developing device 3 for supplying a latent carrier 1 with the developer, a configuration includes a developer storage section 40 for stirring and mixing a developer and capable of storing the developer to be recovered from the developing device 3. The developing device includes a configuration 100, at a position where air to be used when transferring the developer on an air flow is gathered at an upper space of the developer surface of the developer storage section 40, that reduces a pressure necessary for exhausting the gas becoming an excessive pressure which is an air flow transfer pressure or more, to the outside, and in reducing the pressure, drops the developer which moves along with the gas, towards the developer recovery section 40 by the dead weight to recover the developer.
