To properly charge and use replenished toner for development even when a developing device using a developing agent containing the toner and a carrier is used to form an image at a high speed.
The developing device 4 includes: a developing agent conveying/supplying part 42 which agitates and conveys the developing agent d containing the toner and the carrier by an agitating/conveying member 52 and supplies the developing agent to a developing agent carrier 41, and a plurality of developing agent carrying parts 44-47 which agitate/convey the developing agent guided to a discharge port 42a located on the downstream side in the conveying direction of the developing agent conveying/supplying part by agitating/conveying members 54-57, each of which is partitioned by a partition wall 48. Guiding parts 49a-49c which guide the developing agent through the downstream side in the conveying direction of each developing agent conveying part, to the next developing agent conveying part are provided. A return port 42b for returning the developing agent guided to the downstream side in the conveying direction of the last developing agent conveying part, to the upstream side in the conveying direction of the developing agent conveying/supplying part is also provided.
