Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent a developer from scattering.
SOLUTION: A sleeve member 22 has a developing-operation area 40 wherein a magnet member 24 is present and non-developing-operation area 42 at both axial end parts wherein the magnet member 24 is absent. Projection walls 14B and 16B formed on both side walls 14 and 16 of a developing housing 10 have arcuate surfaces 14C and 16C respectively. Seal members 50 are arranged on the arcuate surfaces 14C and 16C. Lower semicircular parts of the peripheral surfaces of the non-developing-operation areas 42 of the sleeve member 22 are pressed against the surface of the corresponding seal members 50. In this developing device 2, one end of each seal member 50 is composed of a slanting part 56 which extends downstream in the rotating direction of the sleeve member 22 to approach the developing-operation area 40 axially from outside and crosses a corresponding side edge 52.
