Abstract:
To effectively prevent leakage of electric charge from a toner on a developer carrier to the developer carrier not only by relying on increasing resistance.SOLUTION: A developing device has a developer carrier that carries a developer having conductivity, and an electric charge injection member that is in contact with the developer carried on the developer carrier and injects electric charge into the developer. The developer has a volume resistivity of 1.0×105 Ω cm or more and 1.0×1011 Ω cm or less, and a surface of a toner base particle contained in the developer is formed with a plurality of projections having insulating properties. The maximum peak height Sp1 on the surface of the developer is larger than the maximum peak height Sp2 on the surface of the developer carrier.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
