Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reproduce a high quality image by preventing the turbulence of the thin layer of developer by plural-th stage regulation member and making in a desired electrostatically charged state for a developing device where the regulation member in plural stages triboelectrifying the adhering developer to a developing sleeve is provided.
CONSTITUTION: Plural regulation members 61 and 62 are provided to adjoin to the developing sleeve 51 and be positionally shifted in the carrying direction of the developer by the developing sleeve 51. Contact-stress for the developer by a second stage regulation member is set to be smaller than the contact-stress by a first stage regulation member 61. Thus a desired electric charge is electrostatically applied to the developer by all the regulation members 61 and 62 without disturbing the thin layer formed by the first stage regulation member 61 by the second stage regulation member 62. Also when a potential difference is formed between the second stage regulation member 62 and the developing sleeve 51, the electric charge is injected to the developer by the regulation member 62, so that the desired electric charge is electrostatically applied to the developer coupling with triboelectritification by the regulation members 61 and 62.
