Abstract:
PURPOSE: To maintain appropriate toner residual amount and toner supply amount, to prevent the small circulation of toner from occurring and to obtain a developed image with stable image quality in a developing device provided with an elastic blade and a supply roller and using non-magnetic toner.
CONSTITUTION: The detecting electrode 11 of an antenna residual amount detector and a toner circulation regulating member are set in an area W near the small circulation area of the toner formed in a developing container 2: an area W surrounded by a horizontal line (v) passing an abutting part D of the elastic blade 4 on a developing sleeve 3, a horizontal line (w) parallel with the line (v) and in contact with a point F on the upper surface of the toner supply roller 5, a vertical line (x) passing the center of the supply roller 5 and a vertical line (y) parallel with the line (x) and in contact with a point G on the surface of the supply roller 5 on the opposite side to the developing sleeve 3. By detecting the toner residual amount in the container 2 by the electrode 11, the toner is successively supplied by a fixed small amount and the sufficient amount of toner in the container 2 is allowed to largely circulate by the circulation regulating member.
