Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method capable of providing a high-quality image even in long-term repeated use.SOLUTION: There is provided a developing method including making a developer carrier 508 carry a magnetic one component developer accommodated in a developing container 503 with an action of a magnetic force by a magnet roller 509, forming a developer layer on the developer carrier 508 by a developer layer thickness regulation member 502, and visualizing an electrostatic latent image with a developer, where the developer contains toner particles containing a binder resin and a magnetic iron oxide, an average circularity in the toner particles having an equivalent circle diameter of 3-400 μm is 0.940 or more, a number average particle size of the magnetic iron oxide is 0.05-0.15 μm, a ratio of the number of the magnetic iron oxide having the number average particle size of less than 0.05 μm is 20% or less, the developer carrier has a base and a resin layer on the base, the resin layer contains a binder resin and carbon black, and a surface interval of graphite (002) surface of the carbon black is 0.3370-0.3450 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
