Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the developing method for a vehicular air bag, which surely restrain an occupant at the time of not only head-on collision and side collision but also oblique collision of a vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: An air bag device is equipped with each inflator I provided for the seat backs S1 of seats SD and SN, each first air bag BS which is connected to each inflator I, and developed in a space between an occupant and each side door, and with each second air bag BF which is connected to the first air bag BS, and developed in a space between the occupant and an instrument panel P. The inner spaces of the first air bag BS and the second air bag BF are communicated with each other by each pressure valve V which is opened when the inner pressure of the first air bag BS exceeds a specified value. When vehicles collide, each first air bag BS is developed first by high pressure gas produced by each inflator I, and when each first air bag BS is developed, each pressure valve V is opened, and each second air bag BF is accordingly developed.
