Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method free from a ghost and fogging over a long period, capable of obtaining stable image density and suitable for miniaturization.
SOLUTION: Developer is supplied on a developer carrier with a developer feed roller adjacent to the developing carrier, a developer layer having a prescribed charged quantity and thickness is formed on the developer carrier by a layer control member and a latent image on a latent image carrier is developed through the developer layer. The developer used for this developing method is a one component developer composed of a toner particle, containing a binder resin and a coloring agent, and an additive, and as the additive, a titanium compound obtained by the reaction of TiO(OH)2 with a silane compound or silicone oil. And the developer feed roller removes the developer from the developer carrier so that the refreshing ratio of the developer becomes ≥85% while supplying the developer on the developer carrier.
