Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device that suppresses the variation of image density in the axial direction of a developer carrier, and an image forming apparatus comprising the development device.SOLUTION: A development device 122 comprises a development housing 80, a developer storage part 81, a first screw feeder 85, a magnetic roller 82, and a development roller 83. The development roller 83 includes a sleeve 830 and a coat layer 83C. The coat layer 83C is formed by an immersion method in which the sleeve 830 is immersed in a prescribed tank along the vertical direction. In the developer storage part 81, the first screw feeder 85 supplies a developer to the magnetic roller 82 while conveying a developer in a first conveyance direction. The lower end side of the sleeve 830 during the immersion is disposed on the downstream side in the first conveyance direction of the development housing 80, and the upper end side of the sleeve 830 during the immersion is disposed on the upstream side in the first conveyance direction of the development housing 80.
