SOLUTION: This device is equipped with the image forming unit abutting on/separating from an image carrier by the rotation of a cam 21, a cam shaft 22 coupled with the cam and rotatably supported by a supporting plate 23, a clutch main body 29 selectively transmitting the rotation of a motor to the cam shaft, an adjusting plate 33 rotatably fixed on the supporting plate and detent means 32a and 33a locking the adjusting plate and the clutch main body. Then, the rotating position of the cam shaft is adjusted by turning the adjusting plate.
