To prevent printed sheets from being damaged or wrinkled due to the need for increasing a belt clamping pressure in a guide mechanism used for clamping a printed sheet between inner and outer endless belts to convey the sheet, the guide member being used in front of a device used in a stacker binder for aligning printed sheets conveyed in a neatly aligned condition, while standing and arranging the sheets on a conveyor.
This device has a first feeder 7 for aligning the printed sheets W in an upstanding, aligned condition and a second feeder 8 for fast-forwarding the printed sheets W. The device can ensure that the printed sheets W are fed down to the first feeder, so the need to increase the belt clamping pressure of the guide mechanism is eliminated. Thus, the printed sheets W can be protected from damage and wrinkling.
