PURPOSE: To connect one or both of a sentence display device or a voice announcing device to the I/O device of the controller of a copying machine through a small number of signal lines, by using a common wire harness.

CONSTITUTION: A wire harness 6 or 11 connecting the I/O device 5 of the controller 1 of a copying machine to a sentence display controller 7 or a voice announcement controller 12 has 9 signal lines in total, 8 of them are signal lines corresponding to bits 1W8, and the rest one is a signal line for transmitting a strobe signal, and they can easily attached or detached to or from the devices 5, 9, and 14. Information defined by the strobe pulses P1WP4 and the signals of bits 1W8 of the addresses corresponding to data stored in RAM4 are fed to the controllers 7 or 12, the signals are processed with CPU8 or 14, and the contents of the data are displayed on a sentence display tube or announced from a speaker 15.
