Title:
DEVICE FOR APPLYING ELECTRIC ENERGY TO EXTERNAL BODY SURFACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000060868
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a device for suppressing damages to peripheral tissues and applying electric energy to a body surface at the time of excising tissues.

This device is provided with a shaft 13 having an electrode array 58 on a distal end and a connector for connecting the electrode array to a high frequency power supplier 28 on a base end part. The shaft is recessed from the tip part and provided with a return electrode contained inside an insulation jacket 18. The return electrode forms an inner side passage for the passing of conductive liquid 50 electrically connected to both of the return electrode and the electrode array. By applying a high frequency voltage to the electrode array and the return electrode, the conductive liquid forms a current route between the return electrode and the electrode array and target tissues are cut off or excised.
