PURPOSE: To easily attach and detach a recording medium to/from a loading position by providing a means of energizing a recording medium holder so as to push it to the side of an exposing position and a means of locking the holder with a lid or a chassis in a housing position and a lock releasing means to be interlocked with opening and closing motion of the lid.

CONSTITUTION: When a lock releasing knob 25 is slid, the lid 23 is released from is lock, and the lid 23 is opened by spring force of a tension spring 34 against a main body 22, i.e., the chassis 28. At this time, since a projection piece 66d of a spring member 66 is engaged with a receiving piece 30a of a chassis holder 30, the holder 30 is also opened in accordance with the opening and closing motion of the lid 23, while the lid 23 and the holder 30 are brought in a slightly opening state between them by spring force of leaf springs 60 of the holder 30. Consequently, a tape cassette CT is allowed to enter and leave the recording medium holder 29 without interference with the lid 23. At the same time, a catch 51 is released from its lock by a releasing lever 57 with relative motion of the chassis 28 and the holder 30, and the holder 29 is turned into the exposing position for the holder 30, so that the cassette CT is largely exposed out of the lid 23. This cassette CT is caught and taken from a tape recorder 21.
