PURPOSE: To draw out without trouble even an adhesive-applied strip of cloth for use as a dishtowel and to enable it to be continuously cut to the correct length by gripping the strip of cloth using a cutting-mechanism-equipped gripping device, forcing it out of a cloth strip feeder horizontally, and cutting it.

CONSTITUTION: Immediately after the cutting process of a gripping device 2B, a gripping device 2A gripping the end of a piece of cloth cut from a strip of cloth moves the piece of cloth by the appropriate size in a direction for drawing out a strip W of cloth, and then the upper pressure means 24 and the lower support 27 of the gripping device 2A are opened to release the piece of cloth. Next, the gripping device 2B newly gripping the end of the strip W of cloth with the upper pressure means 24 and the lower support 27 closed draws out the strip W of cloth of a cloth feeder 1 by a fixed size. The gripping device 2A is moved to a specific position upstream of the strip W of cloth and held in that position, and then cuts a portion of cloth next to and downstream of the position.
