PURPOSE: To automate mounting of a strainer and to save manpower and improve efficiency on entire casting operation by clamping and carrying the positioned strainer on a supplying device with a carrying chuck and mounting the strainer on the sprue part of a casting device.

CONSTITUTION: A lifting command is outputted from a controller to the cy-linder 201 of a take-out chuck 200 and a take-out head 203 is lifted. The strainer which is stuck to the take-out head 203 is engaged with a knockout 205, separated from the take-out head 203 and dropped on the chute face of an upper chute 302. Then, an operation command is outputted from the controller to the cylinder of a chute 300 and an upper chute 302 is lowered by operation of the cylinder. The strainer slides from the upper chute 302 down to a lower chute 301 and is arranged at a supply position P. Existence of the strainer at the supply position P is monitored by an optical sensor. The driving rod is lowered by the cylinder 404 of carrying chuck 400 and the strainer which is arranged at the supply position P is clamped by an opening and closing pawl 406.
