Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, a bandage, a method and a kit for remedy or prevention of a scar and/or a keloid.SOLUTION: A device, a bandage, a kit and a method are described for improvement in formation of a scar and/or a keloid by controlling or adjusting the mechanical environment of a wound. The mechanical environment of a wound includes stress, strain, and any combination of stress and strain. The control of the mechanical environment of a wound may be active, passive, kinetic, or static. The device is detachably fixed to the skin surface in the vicinity of a wound so as to shield the wound from endogenous stress and/or exogenous stress.
