To provide a device for blanking capable of precisely working a cut area and of maintaining an optimum clearance when a die or a punch being ground and edged by pre-blanking followed by shaving.

In the device for blanking a workpiece plate 3 by the motion of a first and second dies 1, 2, the first die 1 comprises a punch 16, on which a tapered portion 16a gradually tapering off toward the tip is formed, and a stopper 17 for positioning a bottom dead center of the first die 1. The second die 2 comprises the first die 21 which has an opening for pre-blanking, and a second die 22 which has an opening for finish and a taper hole 22b gradually expanding in the opening direction from the opening for finish toward its recess. The first die 21 and the second die 22 are superposed in the direction of movement of a punch 16. When the first die 1 reaches the lower dead center, a workpiece material to be worked 3 is blanked with the tip surface of the punch arranged flush with the upper surface of the second die 22 by the stopper 17.
