This device is provided with the opening and closing means (33 and 61) opening and closing the light shielding door of the cartridge 501, a moving member 19d which can be moved between a first position P1 and a second position P3 and which drives the opening and closing means so as to open the light shielding door by the movement in a normal direction toward the position P3 from the position P1 and drives it so as to close the light shielding door by the movement in a reverse direction toward the position P1 from the position P3 and a driving mechanism (slider cam disk 19 and motor) for the moving means 19d. When the moving member 19d is moved in the normal direction, the non-driving state of the opening and closing means is held until it arrives at an intermediate position P2 from the position P1 and the opening and closing means is driven until it arrives at the position P3 from the position P2. Besides, when the moving member 19d is moved in the reverse direction, the opening and closing means is driven until it arrives at the position P2 from the position P3 and the non-driving state of the opening and closing means is held until it arrives at the position P1 from the position P2.
