To provide a device for removing a tonner dispersant from an image formed by a liquid developer.
A roller 11 for conditioning the image formed by the liquid developer consisting of tonner particles and a liquid carrier is provided. Electrical biases are uniformly distributed in the neighborhood of the surface and the adjacent image holding surface of the roller 11 in a wire mesh uniformly covering the inner side layer of the roller 11. The electrical biases are provided with a polarity code being the same as that of the image tonner particles, the tonner particles are electrostatically repulsed, prevented from entering into the roller and made dense for the image. The wire mesh reduces the electrical requirments of a material to be used in the roller 11.
