Abstract:
To provide a tape drive 10 adapted to be used with a cartridge 22.
The cartridge 22 includes a storage tape 26 having a cartridge buckle element 56. The tape drive 10 includes a cartridge receiver 18, a take-up reel 16, a drive buckle element 54 and a drive reader 32. The drive buckle element 54 is engaged with the cartridge buckle element 56. The drive buckle element 54 is fixed to the take-up reel 16 by the drive leader 32. The drive leader 32 includes a first layer 94, a second layer 96 and a third layer 98 to be fixed integrally. Moreover, the second layer 96 includes plural interweaved strands 102. The driving leader 32 has an improved flexibility characteristic.
