PURPOSE: To avoid nonconformity based on a stapling operation exceeding the limit number of stapling sheets by controlling so as to suspend a copying operation when the discharged number of sheets per bin is conformed to the limit number of stapling sheets and executing a stapling operation with that number.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of a sorting mode, a value corresponding to the number of sheets of copying paper discharged into each bin 55 of a sorter is counted by a counting means. Then, the value counted by this counting means is compared with the previously set limit number of sheets of a stapling means 61 by a comparing means and, when it is judged that the value corresponding to the number of copying paper discharged into each bin is conformed to the limit number of stapling sheets, control is made so as to suspend a copying operation.
