PURPOSE: To ensure safety of an apparatus by a method wherein when the combustion is stopped because of the temperature rise of the piping, the temperature rise of refrigerant is suppressed by increasing the flow of air and, if the increased flow of air is ineffective for suppressing the temperature rise of the refrigerant, the operation of apparatus is stopped.
CONSTITUTION: A control part 8 comprises an air flow-setting part 9 whereby the number of revolutions of a motor 1 is set; an outputting part 10 for controlling a means for combustion 6 on the basis of temperatures detected by a temperature detective means 7; an air flow- controlling part 12 for deciding the number of revolutions of the motor 1 on the basis of values respectively of the air flow-setting part 9 and a counter 11; and a resetting part 14 for stopping the outputting part 10 from outputting a combustion-starting signal when the value of the counter 11 has reached a specified number of times. When the temperature detective means 7 detects a rise in the temperature of the refrigerant and therefore the combustion is stopped, the air flow-controlling part 12 sets a higher value for the number of revolutions of the motor 1 than the value set by the air flow-setting part 9 so that the temperature of the refrigerant can be withheld from rising. If the correction in the flow of air is ineffective and the combustion repetitively stops because of high temperatures of the refrigerant, the resetting part 14 works and the combustion is not started. Thus it does not occur for the operation to be continued under an abnormal condition.
