This device for controlling the rotating electric machine comprises: a current detection means 2 which detects a current of the rotating electric machine flowing to the rotating electric machine 1; a position estimation means 3 which outputs an estimated position on the basis of the current of the rotating electric machine; a control means 4 which outputs a voltage command on the basis of the estimated position; and a voltage application means 5 which applies a voltage to the rotating electric machine 1 on the basis of the voltage command. The control means 4 comprises a drive voltage operation part 6 which operates a drive voltage command for driving the rotating electric machine 1, and a position estimating voltage command generation part 13 which generates a position estimating voltage command of another frequency different from that of the drive voltage command, and added with a plurality of signals different in frequency. The control means outputs a voltage command added with the position estimating voltage command and the drive voltage command to the voltage application means 5.
