Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling a stepping motor that can reduce the occurrence of failure in start-up of a stepping motor.SOLUTION: A device 10 for controlling a stepping motor comprises a drive circuit 1, a control part, and a reference voltage variable part 3. The drive circuit 1 sets a current value of an excitation current with reference to a reference voltage Vref and supplies the excitation current to excitation phases of a stepping motor 4 in synchronization with a rectangular wave. The control part 2 gradually increases the frequency of the rectangular wave from a first frequency to a secondary frequency in a first period from when the stepping motor 4 is started up until the motor enters a steady drive state. The reference voltage variable part 3 changes the reference voltage Vref on the basis of the rectangular wave to change the current value of the excitation current. The control part 2 changes the duty ratio of the rectangular wave so that the excitation current supplied in the first period has a larger current value than that of the excitation current supplied in a second period during which the stepping motor 4 is driven in the steady drive state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
