PURPOSE: To provide a device for conveying samples such as blood, by which sample racks on which sample containers are set can be efficiently conveyed into and out of a measuring device or the like by automating the operation of conveying the sample racks into and out of the measuring device or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A course through which sample racks 6 are conveyed is formed in a closed loop inside a buffer unit 1 provided at the front stage of a measuring unit 2 provided with a measuring device 47 or the like, and sample containers 7 fed from a pretreatment device or the like are placed on the empty sample rack 6. After the sample rack 6 carrying the sample containers 7 is conveyed into the measuring unit 2, the used sample containers 7 are conveyed to another device such as a storage device, and the empty sample rack 6 is returned to a position from which the sample containers are conveyed into the measuring unit.
