This device for crushing the solidified catalyst 100 into small pieces is provided with a device body 11 which is disposed in a reaction column and houses the solidified catalyst 100 crushed into small lumps having a prescribed size in the reaction column and a crushing means 33 which is disposed in the device body 11 and crushes the catalyst 100 into smaller pieces. The solidified catalyst 100 housed in the device body 11 is crushed into smaller pieces by the crushing means. By using this device, the solidified catalyst can be crushed into small pieces extremely more easily and rapidly than by using a hammer and the vacuum sucking can be more easily carried out. Since the work to withdraw the catalyst in the reaction column is carried out in a short time, the time to stop the plant operation can be reduced.
