PURPOSE: To prevent presence of an cut part in a bead on the outer surface of a welded steel pipe by rotating the front end of a cutter support member with the use of a hydraulic cylinder about a rotary shaft as a rotating center which is provided at the rear end of the cutter support member so that a cutter attached to the cutter support member is pressed against a bear on the outer surface of the steel pipe so as to cut the bead.
CONSTITUTION: During cutting of a bead on the outer surface of a welded steel pipe 41, a hydraulic cylinder 28 and a tool support member 33 is lowered down to a predetermined position in accordance with the outer diameter of the welded steel pipe by means of a worm jack. Upon a start of cutting, the tool support member 33 is further lowered by the hydraulic cylinder 28 while the front end of the tool support member 33 is depressed by a hydraulic cylinder 1 so as to make a copying roller 34 into contact with the steel pipe 41, and to cause a cutting tool 35 to wedge into the bead on the outer surface of the steel pipe. In this condition, a conveyer roller 43 is rotated to cut the bead while the steel pipe is advanced.
