PURPOSE: To obtain a device capable of cutting selvedge tuft part of fabric short and in high accuracy.

CONSTITUTION: A fabric feeder 1, a cutting device 4 and a fabric winder 2 are successively installed. The cutting device 4 consists of a base laid in the vicinity of the selvedge tuft of fabric, a sensor which is set on the base and detects the side of the fabric, a cutter which is laid on the base and cuts the selvedge tuft of fabric, a driving means for moving the base in the width direction of the base and a control means 8 which is connected to the sensor and the driving means and regulates action of the driving means according to the output of the sensor.
