A device 100 includes a damping system 10 held in a housing 11 and having an elastic unit 12 and a liquid pressure damping arrangement 13, and a piston rod 2 which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction L with respect to the housing 11 of the damping system 10. A piston head 3 is formed in an end area of the piston rod 2. The piston head 3 is held in a first liquid pressure chamber 17 of the liquid pressure damping arrangement 13 to be able to be displaced. When there are longitudinal movements of the piston head 3 with respect to the first liquid pressure chamber 17, liquid pressure fluid flows to a second liquid pressure chamber 18 of the liquid pressure damping arrangement 13 via a transfer flow system in an extracted form.
