A noise amount obtained by a magnetic head 8 is read out. A reproduced output amplifying a voltage value obtained by the head 8 through electric impetus from the outside of a device by an amplifier is transmitted to a control circuit 20. When the rise of a voltage waveform equal to or above a predetermined voltage value is obtained, the circuit 20 recognizes it as one noise. Then, the total noise amount produced in a given time based on the inputted reproduced output is counted as the number of pulses and the counted result is read out as the noise amount. When the measured noise amount is equal to or above a reference noise amount, warning display is performed on a display device.
