CONSTITUTION: When a platen cover 4 is closed once, a specific area designation key is turned on and an information signal detecting a position outputted from knobs 13a, 13b, 14a, 14b is inputted to a control section 19 and stored. When the operator opens a cover 4, turns down the original 1, places the original to a prescribed position, closes the cover 4 again and then turns on a transmission key 5, a prescribed facsimile operation is executed. A program converting automatically the position information of the part A inputted to a measuring section 19 in this case to a corresponding position is executed at the turn-over of the original 1. Thus, only a part corresponding to the part A is read by CCD15 and after coding by a coding section 16, the result is modulated by a MODEM18 and transmitted to a line 17.
