Title:
DEVICE FOR DETECTING BATTERY MOUNTING FAILURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05266872
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce cost and enhance reliability by prohibiting latching of a cover of a device to the device with a battery holding member capable of deflecting when a battery is not mounted on the device. CONSTITUTION: A sensor 10 has a base 12 and a cover 14. The base 12 and the cover 14 can be molded with commercial plastic material. The base 12 is formed with the inner surface 16a and the outer surface 16b. In the inner surface 16a, a battery accepting region is fixed and can not move against the base 12. First and second long movable battery holding members 22, 24 are formed adjacently to the battery accepting member. The holding members 22, 24 have second free ends 22b, 24b respectively. The holding members 22, 24 have projections 26a, 28a adjacent to the end parts 22b, 24b. The projections 26a, 28b link the cover 14 to the base 12 when a battery is mounted. When the battery is not mounted, latching of the cover 14 to the sensor 10 is prohibited.
